(Amsterdam News) — No matter how many counts—and there are now 13 against Congressman Charles Rangel—these are allegations, not indictments brought by a prosecutor. In other words, Rangel has not been arrested, tried or convicted. He must be allowed a presumption of innocence until he has been found guilty.
But to hear the media, particularly the right-wing press, which is acting like a judge, jury and executioner, Rangel’s career is over and he would be better off resigning before they lower the political boom on him.
