(AJC) — The ripples from a court ruling overturning a gay marriage ban in California extended across the country as about 45 supporters of same-sex marriage gathered in Atlanta to cheer the decision Wednesday evening.
A group opposing the court’s decision plans a rally this weekend.
The small crowd stood on the corner of 10th and Piedmont to celebrate the ruling by a federal judge in San Francisco that struck down Proposition 8, a voter-approved initiative that banned gay marriage in California.
