Azealia Banks Accuses Beyoncé Of Stealing Her Choreography And Not Being About Female Empowerment
Azealia Banks is at it again. This time, she is (or trying to) dragging Beyoncé . On her Instagram stories, the Fantasea rapper accused Bey of stealing choreography not only from other women but from her as well and that she is not really about empowering women.
“I realized that my ex-dancer Ashanti choreographed for Beyoncé and stole the original choreography @gypjap made for count contessa,” she wrote. “Like Beyoncé likes to push this female empowerment s–t but is just ALWAYS trying to steal from talented women and out do them…which she never really does.”
This isn’t the first time Banks has had a few words for Yoncé. After the release of Lemonade, the “Anna Wintour” rapper claimed to have not been impressed.
“Just six months ago you told every black girl in the industry to ‘bow down’ now you want to stick up for black folk lol,” Banks tweeted in April of 2016. “Queens are supposed to lead, they don’t step on the spirits of the girls who came after them then to just try to take that same spirit.”
However, during an interview on The Breakfast Club in May, she saluted the album for its impact.
“Two years ago, the conversation surrounding black women’s culture was really reaching an all-time high and we were really like discussing our power amongst ourselves, Beyoncé came out with Lemonade. There was just this really, intelligent conversation going on nationally.”
Banks’ comments are always inconsistent, which makes it difficult to take her seriously.
