“I Think I Underestimated This Whole Mommy Thing” Cardi B Will Not Join Bruno Mars On Tour This Fall
Is anyone surprised?
If you’ve been following Cardi B on social media since she gave birth, then you already know that the “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s most-used words have been “tired” and “exhausted.”
The 25-year-old is learning that new motherhood is a lot more taxing on the body and the mind than she thought. She admitted that she doesn’t have a nanny, so she is in full mommy mode around-the-clock. But as any full-time mother knows, that comes with some sacrifices.
Last night, she took to social media to announce that she would not be joining Bruno Mars on his 24K Magic tour this fall.
Although it was a hard decision, she said that this is what’s best for her recovery and for her baby.
“I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically. I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing,” she wrote.
And as she says in her caption, Bruno Mars is being supportive and understanding of her decision. The pop star tweeted that he was behind her 100% and that he hopes the fans will be as well.
“Most important thing is for you and your family’s health. I know the fans will understand. You are absolutely doing the right thing,” he wrote.
Cardi B. gave birth to daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus on July 10, whom she shares with Migos rapper Offset.
Although she’s not at the six week mark, she clearly understands that at a little over two weeks, there’s no way she would be able to mentally and physically snap back into tour mode. And the idea of taking the infant on tour is completely out of the question.
Some people might want to bark “I told you so” at the Grammy nominated rapper, but we all learn when we’re faced with learning. And what we all love about Cardi is how transparent she is. Who hasn’t believed in their own invincibility at one point or another?
So, cheers to Cardi for choosing her health and child. And for those of you with tickets, Bruno has promised to play “Bodak Yellow” every night in her honor. So, get those lyrics memorized because she’s passing the mic to ya!
