Kenya Moore Confirms She’s Not Returning To RHOA…For Now: “The Fans Deserve To See My Happy Ending”
Is Kenya Moore giving back her peach?
If Bravo doesn’t up what they’re trying to pay the 47-year-old, she says you won’t be seeing her on Season 11 of Real Housewives of Atlanta.
She finally spoke up about the rumors that were going around that she wouldn’t be returning to the series. Earlier this month, the New York Post reported that a source close to production said she hadn’t started filming with the other ladies because producers “offered her [a] part-time [role] and she didn’t want the reduction in pay. So she’s out.”
But when a fan claimed that she successfully fought for more money and to keep her peach as a housewife, Kenya decided to fill people in on what she says is really going on. According to her, producers didn’t ask her to be the infamous “friend of the show” (which is kind of like the doghouse they put folks in when producers aren’t pleased with them), but didn’t want to increase her pay despite the fact that her story line will likely be the most interesting one. She is expecting her first child at 47, and it seems she and husband Marc Daly have decided to stop being so private. But no worries, she says, “a girl has options just in case.”
This follows news that new mom and wife-to-be Eva Marcille was given a peach, Shamari DeVoe may be joining the show in some capacity, and Sheree Whitfield‘s confirmation that she will not be returning because she was “lowballed” and knows her worth:
But while Sheree’s “currently living my best life” and claims to be unbothered by the end of her time on the show yet again, Kenya admits she’s hurt that things are playing out in this way at what should be the happiest time of her life.
Hopefully things will work out with negotiations, because whether you’re a fan of Kenya or not, as she put it, she’s “good effing TV.”
