Makeup artist Ingrid Grimes-Myles told Chicago Mag back in 2011 that once she taught Michelle Obama the basics of doing fresh face makeup for events, the former First Lady started doing it on her own out of convenience.
“Early on, I taught her how to do a clean media face, and to this day, she is very competent in accomplishing this,” she said. “Mrs. Obama could not have a makeup artist for all of her many scheduled appearances.”
