Danielle Brooks Shows Off Curves In Swimsuit, Says “Why Photoshop When You This PHAT?” (Pretty, Hot And Tempting)
She doesn’t call herself the “Voice of the Curves” for nothing.
Danielle Brooks has never been shy about letting people see what she’s working with. And in fact, she does so in the hopes of encouraging other women who may not be petite to feel just as comfortable in their skin. So it was no surprise when the 28-year-old decided to stunt on everyone in a figure-hugging, high-cut swimsuit this week. However, it was still a “Damn, girl! We see you” moment for the Orange Is the New Black star, who proudly repped for the sex appeal of women over 200 pounds while singlehandedly making the phrase “PHAT” trendy again (and giving us Patrice Rushen braids realness).
This self-confidence didn’t come overnight, though. She admitted in a past interview with Self.com that she used to be pretty hard on herself.
“For the longest time, I have put myself down and criticized my body for having extra curves and love handles and thick thighs,” she said. Danielle realized that all the negative things she said to herself wouldn’t change a thing — but her spirit.
“There’s only so much beating myself up that I can take,” she added. “If I am putting poison into my body, I’m not going to live. That’s not only with what we eat and how much we work out, but with what we’re saying to ourselves. I realized the only way I’m going to be happy is by servicing my body in a way that is healthy.”
And now you can’t keep the beauty from striking a fierce pose in the swimwear of the season. She’s actually been doing it for some time now. Hit the flip to see sis serve more curve in her swimsuits.
