Focusing On Being Grateful, Instead Of Complaining, Gets Tamera Mowry Through Workouts: “Exercise Will Never Be A Punishment To Me”

Summertime may already be here, but that doesn’t mean the work towards a fit and healthy body comes to an end.

Tamera Mowry-Housley, who recently turned 40, is a reminder of that. The beauty started training with a favorite of ours, Massy Arias, and the workouts have been tough. However, she has a positive outlook on getting through them. She focuses on being grateful that she can get moving in the first place. Many aren’t so lucky.

“Lord I thank you for this body,” she wrote on Instagram. “It can move; exercise will never be a punishment to me. I am grateful. Grateful for movement, grateful for growth.”

She shared that message of gratitude alongside video of herself doing in and outs on a ladder for agility. The mother of two moved faster than most might expect:

And all of this is a big deal for The Real co-host considering she told us previously that she couldn’t do much intense activity due to back pain. But she slowly and surely worked her way up from just going for walks to Pilates and ladder drills, hence her gratitude.

“I hurt my back because I picked up my kids at the same time — both of them,” she told us last summer. “But I’m doing so much better now. Pilates is amazing! It’s been helping me throughout this entire process. And walking. Walking is great. And also, like I was talking about apps, fitness apps are really amazing as well because they show you how many calories you’ve lost. I love it.”
