If You’re Heading To New Orleans For Essence Fest, Check Out These Summer Soirée Celebrations At Le Méridien

July 3, 2018  |

If you’ve ever been to Essence Festival in New Orleans, you know Le Meridien is the place to be, whether you’ve actually booked a room or are enjoying one of the hotel’s infamous mid-day turn ups around the lobby bar. And this summer, the hotel chain is turning up the heat even more with special summer soiree celebrations throughout its locations in the U.S. and abroad.

In collaboration with writer Garance Doré who is also creative director and founder of Atelier Doré, the Paris-born hotel brand launched Au Soleil: a Summer Soirée by Le Méridien last month. The program gives guests at more than 100 hotels around the world — from Split, Seoul, and Nice to New Orleans, Dubai, and Bangkok — a chance to experience the aura of the Côte d’Azur (French Riveria) both audibly and edibly. Dedicated Petit Plate menus will offer light fare that’s local to the given city alongside rosé spritzers and aperitifs which you can indulge in while listening to a special summer soundtrack curated by French Bossa Nova collective Nouvelle Vague.

Different cities will also have unique experiences. For instance, in New Orleans, local French guitarist Raphael Bas will entertain guests with his acoustic gypsy jazz sound at Longitude 90 in Le Méridien Hub from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. And on Thursday evenings, Cubs the Poet will join Bas for an evening of music and poetry as Cubs pens original poems for hotel guests and locals.

Beginning on Bastille Day (July 14), Le Méridien Denver Downtown will offer aperitivo hour featuring Italian Aperol Spritz Punch and French 75 Punch in the hotel’s restaurant: Corinne Honest Food and Drink as well as on the patio everyday from 4 – 10 p..m. There will also be backgammon and rosé in The Lobbyist bar on Sundays and vintage summer cinema on Mondays with light bites, cocktails, music and films inspired by the late 1960s.

Abroad, Le Méridien Beach Plaza in Monte Carlo debuted a custom built rosé bar and beachside bites in anticipation of the Monaco Grand Prix. Recently renovated Le Méridien Ra rolled out its signature Gelato truck to mark the beginning of its summer celebrations on one of Catalonia’s most incredible beaches where guests can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine, Sparkling Cocktails and live music well. And Le Méridien Versailles in Montreal will also offer live music, rosé cocktails, and gelato as guests transition from day to evening as well as a backgammon tournament each Thursday. The hotel has also partnered with Priority Bicycles to offer guests an opportunity to explore the city in a way they never have before.
