Model Melyssa Ford is pulling through after being involved in a life-threatening car accident recently when an 18-wheeler clipped her jeep causing it to flip multiple times. According to an Instagram post from her close friend, Maryam Iman, Ford is alive thanks to her seat belt but still suffered very serious injuries including a concussion, bleeding from her brain and a 10-inch open wound that had to be closed with staples and stitches. She is of course still being hospitalized for those injuries.
In the post Iman pleaded with followers to not make light of the situation (as often is the case with social media) and to focus on sending their love and prayers and cherishing each moment with their loved ones:
“Life is short and so please spread love. Please only send my friend love and healing during this time. Hug your loved ones and hold them close ❤ love you @melyssaford and I’m glad you’re still here with us.”
Ford hails from Canada and rose to fame in the 90’s and 2000’s after being featured in several hip-hop music videos such as Jay-Z’s “Big Pimpin” and Jadakiss’s “Knock Yourself Out”. She also has a degree in forensic psychology and appeared on the short-lived Bravo reality show Blood, Sweat and Heels alongside author Demetria Lucas who also shared her feelings via Instagram yesterday after learning about the alarming news:
No word on the identity of the driver of the 18-wheeler nor if they have been questioned by authorities.
We wish Ford a speedy recovery and support for her family, friends and fans who are dealing with this unfortunate accident.
