Braxton Family Values Cast Shuts Down Production Over Contract Disagreements
How is the rest of Toni’s wedding planning going? Will her fiance Birdman actually get a tattoo of the wedding date on his face (before the actual wedding)? Will we ever see more than just Tamar’s estranged husband’s shadow again?
Welp! It seems like the ladies of Braxton Family Values won’t give us those answers just yet. They’ve shut down the second half of season six, and surprisingly, it has nothing to do with any family drama. The ladies aren’t returning until their contracts are renegotiated.
According to TMZ, Tamar, Toni, Towanda, Traci, Trina and Mama Evelyn were scheduled to tape last week in Atlanta, but only Traci showed up. So, We TV, the network that airs the reality show, shut down production until further notice.
Sources told TMZ that the cast is refusing to tape until the network and Magical Elves Productions revise certain terms in their contracts that include increases in their wardrobe and travel stipends and their overall salaries, which should be raised to an “appropriate” level. None of the current stipends or salaries have been disclosed, and neither the network nor the production company have provided comment.
However, the ladies are under contract through season nine, so they will return to our screens at some point. It’s just a question of when.
Are the Braxtons being divas or just women demanding that they get paid for what they’re worth?
