Whenever people find out someone has been married for a relatively long period of time, the first thing they want to know is “How do you make it work?” Most times, that answer is about communication or something involving the other person, but Lisa Leslie says the key to a healthy union is being happy with yourself.
We spoke to the former WNBA pro and Olympic gold medalist who’s been married to husband Mike Lockwood for 13 years and she told us:
“The secret to a long-lasting happy relationship is to be happy with yourself. Learn to find happiness every day for yourself and don’t try to change the other person….you cannot make the perfect person.”
