According reports, Mariah Carey has finally rid herself of the ring from her short-lived engagement to billionaire James Packer. Worth an estimated $10 million, the music legend reportedly sold it for $2 million. That’s a huge gap in profit, but hey, considering she didn’t pay for it in the first place, and initially said “Why?” at the idea of giving the ring back, it’s still a significant come-up.

Carey may have kept the ring to eventually sell it (she did wear it just because after the couple split in 2016), some have kept their rings because they felt they deserved them, while others, who wanted no parts of their exes, actually gave them back. Hit the flip to see who did what and let us know where you stand on who should keep the ring when an engagement ends.
