Greenleaf Actress Calls For Boycott Of Houston’s Restaurant After “Wrongful Arrest” For Using Bathroom
Greenleaf actress Asia’h Sharrell Epperson, is calling for a boycott of the restaurant Houston’s. She, along with Brittany Marie Lucio and Erica Walker, also actresses, claim that they were unfairly “manhandled” and treated by police after taking too long in the bathroom.
Their stories versus the police report are drastically different. First reported by 11 Alive News in Houston, which story do you believe?
On Mother’s Day, May 13, the three ladies entered Houston’s restroom after hours. According to Epperson, staff allowed her to do so. After this, it gets murky. The ladies say one thing, and the police reports says another.
According to the police report, the shift manager asked an officer to escort the three women out of the restroom because they were taking too long. Staff had asked them to leave twice, but they refused.
When the officer went into the restroom, he found the three women all on their phones. The officer asked them to leave, but they did not respond. He asked them again to leave, this time, they laughed while looking at their phones. A third request also went ignored.
After the third request was ignored, the report says the officer grabbed Lucio by the wrist, saying “Let’s go.” The officer said the woman pulled away from his grip and shouted “Get your hands off of me!” to which the officer replied, “Ok. Just leave the restaurant.” But the women refused to move.
The officer grabbed Lucio’s wrist again, leading her outside the restaurant, where she shouted at the officer, “Get your f****** hands off me! You ain’t about to touch me.”
Then, the officer said Lucio threw a punch at his mouth and head, causing two lacerations inside his mouth. He asked restaurant staff to call 911 for backup. The officer restrained both Lucio and Walker, and this is when Epperson pulled our her phone and began recording.
“You are assaulting an officer right now,” he says.
You can hear Epperson say she is calling the “real police” and that he is in the wrong, not her friend.
Lucio, Walker and Epperson were all charged with Criminal Trespass. Lucio was also hit with an extra Felony Obstruction charge. They were all booked into the Fulton County Jail.
Lucio told TMZ that she can’t go into detail about what happened, but that everything the officer claims is “completely false.” She believes that excessive force was used on her and that it was “racially motivated.”
“I believe if we were a different ethnicity, things would have been handled differently,” Lucio said.
Well, T.I. is cheerleading their cause, and on Instagram yesterday, he expressed his disappointment in what he thinks is another discriminatory practice from Houston’s.
“After all we went through, y’all going to go and let old Gusman drag the young lady out the bathroom, through the restaurant, push her in the bushes, physically assault her,” he said. “That what y’all gone do.”
So, who do you believe? The police or the ladies? (My opinion – the police).
