#NeverTooLate: Kimora Lee Simmons Just Graduated From Business School Like A Boss
We recently told you that 43-year-old mother of four, Kimora Lee Simmons, went back to school in 2017 to obtain a business degree. The star had been enrolled since that time at the University of Hartford in Connecticut’s Barney School of Business. She was doing so well at the school, and is already a big name in business (she was previously behind Baby Phat and now heads her signature clothing line, KLS), that she was even asked to lecture on fashion and finance.
Well, after a lot of hard work, the beauty strut her stuff (catwalk style) across the stage at the Barney School of Business graduation on Monday, where she obtained her degree.
“Much love and gratitude for my family for the love and support and everyone @universityofhartford we did it!!!” she wrote in an Instagram story of herself accepting her diploma.
She also celebrated with her kids, including son Kenzo, while sharing the message that she’s passing the value of education onto her kids, and that it’s #nevertoolate to go back to school:
“We figured out a way to get it done and I did all those credits and I’m here today,” she told the Hartford Courant.
She said obtaining her business degree “sets a good example … It’s never too late! I think that’s the point right? I’m probably one of the oldest ones here, but it’s never too late — and I look good!”
Her efforts have inspired her daughter Ming Lee to follow in her footsteps in more ways than one. The high school senior, who already models like her mom, told WWD that once she graduates this spring, she too, wants to obtain a business degree.
As previously mentioned, the star previously graduated from Lutheran North High School in St. Louis, Missouri. She joins a few other stars, including fellow former model Tyra Banks, Swizz Beatz and more, who’ve sought out higher education after fame in an effort to better expand their empires.
And Kimora has always pushed the message that with hard work, you can accomplish just about anything. As she once said, “You can do anything you put your mind to, and you can do it in stilettos.”
