“All Were Made With Love” Mel B. Discusses Having Three Children By Three Different Men

May 10, 2018  |

My favorite Spice Girl, Melanie “Mel B” Brown, appeared on UK’s chat show Loose Women yesterday, and she opened up about what it’s like to parent three daughters.

Phoenix Chi, 19, Angel Iris, 10, and Madison, 6, all give Scary Spice a run for her money, of course. Besides the regular mommy duties, she has to maintain healthy relationships with all three of their fathers, something she doesn’t bat an eye about it (as she shouldn’t).

While her family isn’t a traditional one, it isn’t unheard of. Some would say it’s a modern family. Phoenix’s father is Jimmy Gulzar, Angel’s father is Eddie Murphy and Madison’s father is Brown’s ex-husband Stephen Belafonte. While no one plans for this to happen, when it does, you make it work as well you can.

“I’ve got three daughters by three different men, three different solid relationships. I would never want to talk bad about any of their fathers,” Mel B. said on Loose Women.

“Talking bad” about any of their fathers could have real consequences on the children since they’re all in the public eye. Gulzar is a Dutch actor. Murphy is every title you can think of, and Belafonte is a film producer.

Although Mel B. closes her mouth in public when her exes get out of line, we the people surely have our say. We told you two months ago about documents that revealed how Belafonte was sabotaging the relationship between Angel and her father, Eddie Murphy. Considering how important these father-daughter relationships are to Mel B., I’m sure it was hard to not pop off (in public) about that.

She recently signed a publishing deal for an upcoming book, but because of how firm she’s standing in not discussing the bad and the ugly about her exes, I doubt any of that will be included. Instead, she will focus on the beauty of having three girls and her personal journey in general.

“We made beautiful babies together and all three babies were made with a lot of love,” she explained. “[The book will be] more about my personal journey and what I put up with and what I allowed to happen.”

Kudos to Mel B. for being better than me!

You can check out a clip of her from Loose Women where she also talks about a real reunion happening with all of the Spice Girls.
