Yesterday on social media, Academy Award winner Jordan Peele revealed the name and poster for his new film. Two blurry facial images over a lightly charcoal-smudged background float above the title Us. Its tag line promises that it will be “a new nightmare.”

The release date has been set for March 15, 2019. Could this be a sequel to last year’s smash hit Get Out? Peele provided no clues to its plot, but according to Deadline, it will be another social thriller.

Although we don’t yet know what this new film will be about, we can get a little excited about the idea that two of our favorite Black Panther stars might be a part of it. Sources told Deadline that Lupita Nyong’o is currently in talks to join the project, and Winston Duke aka “M’Baku” is being considered. Elisabeth Moss, the star of Hulu’s Handmaid’s Tale, is also being eyed.

Peele will step back into the writer-director shoes for Us. He did quite well in this capacity for Get Out, earning him nominations for Best Director and Best Picture at the 2018 Academy Awards. And he actually won a statue for Best Original Screenplay.

Us is the first project in Peele’s first-look deal with Universal Studios, so there will be more to come. He is producing the flick through his company Monkeypaw Productions alongside Ian Cooper, Sean McKittrick and Jason Blum.

While we wait for Us to drop next year, keep in mind that Peele is probably the busiest he’s ever been in his career. He is currently working on a Lorena Bobbitt docu-series for Amazon, and he is an executive producer on HBO’s Lovecraft Country.

With all of these projects happening right now, it seems like 2019 just might be the year featuring the mind of Jordan Peele.
