Here’s Everything You Need To Know About Cardi B’s First Met Gala

May 8, 2018  |

Cardi B hit this year’s Met Gala in pure Cardi-style: Loud and with a bang. With this being her first year hitting the red carpet, Cardi’s arrival was highly-anticipated from all, including fashion editors, stylists, and Bardi gang alike.

Two major things that stood out were Cardi’s stylistic choices for the evening as well as her makeup. Her makeup look, done by Erika La’ Pearl with Marc Jacobs Beauty, featured a cat eye, a subtle bronze, and a beautiful berry lip. And while her entire makeup look was bomb, we couldn’t help but swoon over her enviable lip color. According to La Pearl, she used Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick in Blow 210 ($30).And if you’re in need of a berry lip at a fraction of the cost, Maybelline’s Color Sensational Lip Colors are less than $4!

Her enviable cateye was accentuated with Kiss Lashes – Triple Push Up Collection. The lashes are affordable at $6.99 per pair. You can get Cardi’s look below with the Teddy lashes.

When it came to the hair, Cardi was styled by none other than her go-to, Tokyo Stylez. For the night, Stylez gave Cardi six bundles of wavy hair to play with, brushing the hair out from the bottom to the top to create all that beautiful volume we saw. He used a Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer professional edition ($499.00) to dry her hair quickly.

Stylistically, we saw Cardi walk down the red carpet with Jeremy Scott, dressed in a Moschino ensemble to tackle the theme of the Catholic imagination in fashion. Can we just take a second to acknowledge how poppin’ her style choices have been while pregnant?

For the night, her outfit was decked down in embroidered beads, jewels, and stones. Her headpiece was to die for, and even down to the gloves, it was obvious that everything had been hand-made just for her.

And the scenes on and off the carpet were just as amazing — the Bardi gang online cheered Cardi on every step of the way. Like, how cute does she look? Looking like she’s living her best life.

Some even spotted the moment she and Nicki embraced (sort of), wondering if the feud was finally over and if this was a sign for brighter days. While we can’t confirm or deny, we can just say that both ladies looked great at the Met.

At the end of the day, Cardi represents so much to so many people: She’s not just some regular chick who gets to walk the red carpet, but she’s someone who has gotten to where she is through hard work, even if viewed unconventional by some people’s standards. At the end of the day, Cardi shows what happens when you press through and continue to fight for your fairytale, no matter what the haters say. On to more Met Galas Cardi, next time, you’ll have your little Cardi with you!
