Issa Rae To Join Marsai Martin’s Film Little

May 3, 2018  |

I don’t think I need to tell y’all that Issa Rae is putting in work. In addition to her own projects, producing others’ work under her company’s umbrella, Issa Rae is also branching out to star in other film projects.

We reported that she would be starring in the upcoming film The Hate U Give.

And now there’s another announcement. Issa Rae will join Marsai Martin in the film Little. As we reported earlier, Martin conceptualized, will executive produce and star in the film.

Little is a film about a “woman who gets the chance to relive the carefree life as her younger self when the pressures of adulthood become too much.”

Issa Rae will play the older version of Martin’s character.

Camilla Blackett, a writer from “Fresh Off The Boat,” wrote the earlier drafts of the script with Drumline writer Tina Gordon and Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver working on earlier drafts.

Gordon is set to direct the project.

Will Packer and James Lopez are producing along with “black-ish” creator Kenya Barris. Regina Hall and Josh Martin are also on board to executive produce the film.

Little is set to hit theaters on September 20, 2019.
