(Atlanta Journal Constitution) — Georgia was below the national average for education spending per student, according to a new U.S. Census Bureau report. The Peach State spent $9,788 per student during the 2007-08 school year, compared with the national average of $10,259.
Of the money Georgia spends on its students, 45.2 percent comes from state revenue, while 47.1 percent comes from local taxes and 7.9 percent comes from the federal government
