Kerry Washington Dropped Her Makeup Line Yesterday — What Do You Think?
If there’s one thing Kerry Washington is noted for, it’s her natural beauty. The actress never overdoes it on red carpets and exudes an understated radiance wherever she goes. We all know the key to a natural glow is fabulous skin, which the 41-year-old Neutrogena spokeswoman definitely has. And now Kerry and the skincare brand have teamed up for a makeup line so fans can enhance their natural glow as well.
Yesterday, Neutrogena makeup launched a line of eyeshadow and cheek palettes curated by the Scandal star which are available exclusively at Ulta and Ulta.com.
The Essential Eye Palette ($12.99) comes in five blendable and buildable shades with built-in primer to decrease smudging and creasing and extend wear time — 12 hours of rich color is what this set promises. Similarly, the Essential Cheek Palette ($9.99) consists of a blush, bronzer, and highlight to provide a long-lasting, blendable natural glow.
Now, Kerry who told MarieClaire.com regarding the collection, “I’ve been there since the start, from research and development, to marketing, to meeting with consumers,” did take the time to state the obvious when it comes to the palettes: “Not every color is going to look good on everyone.” Still, she said, “Obviously, I’m a woman of color, so I want to be able to use it, too, but I also wanted everyone to be able to find a few shades they can use in each palette, even if it’s your three best friends of three different races.”
The main benefit of the palettes, she said, is their ease of use. “The beauty industry can feel so intimidating and complicated so I wanted to create a palette that would be an easy, go-to toolkit that you can use no matter where you are, and no matter what you’re doing. These palettes are user-friendly, so you can feel flirty and elegant and all of your best qualities without a lot of work. Neutrogena really is about bringing the best version of yourself forward, both when you’re wearing makeup and when you’re taking it off.”
