Jesse Williams’ Estranged Wife Says $50K Per Month Doesn’t Cover Costs, Requests More Child Support Reimbursement

April 13, 2018  |

Just when we all thought this saga was over…

Actor Jesse Williams and his estranged wife, real estate broker Aryn Drake-Lee, still haven’t settled all their differences when it comes to their little ones. Initially reported by TMZ, Drake-Lee is asking for additional child support…after both of them were granted joint physical custody recently.

According to TMZ, Drake-Lee filed court documents claiming that the $50,695 per month that her husband currently pays does not completely cover certain expenses for their 2- and 4-year-old kids. At this moment, she says that she is paying all of the kids’ bills, and that amounts to $73, 369 per month. But right now, she’s only asking to be reimbursed for things related to school, activities and childcare.

People Magazine obtained court documents showing that Drake-Lee is requesting to be reimbursed “in the amount of $26,884.50, for [Williams’] one-half share of the children’s schooling and activities, and the nanny costs incurred during his custodial time, of which I have paid 100%.”

The document goes on to say that “…from my support, I am paying housing expenses associated with our community residence, including mortgage and property taxes, and I am paying all of the costs for our joint nanny.”

But the documents don’t just address kid-related expenses. Drake-Lee is also asking Williams to contribute an additional $200,000 in attorneys’ fees.

While I am nowhere near making the kind of bread that Williams or Drake-Lee makes, I see nothing wrong with her requesting a 50/50 reimbursement of child costs. That’s fair.

And I also see nothing wrong with her asking for additional money toward legal fees. Williams chose to leave his marriage in April 2017, so I’m really wondering why she needs to pay anything toward divorce proceedings at all? But that’s just me. What do ya’ll think?
