Tia Mowry “Probably Went Through 20 Pregnancy Tests” Before She Believed She Was Having Another Child
Tia Mowry couldn’t believe it when she found out she was pregnant. Literally. It took some serious convincing.
In the new issue of Mini Magazine, a digital publication for “the modern parent,” Mowry, who is near the finish line of her second pregnancy, said she took a number of at-home tests before she felt confident due to struggles brought on by her endometriosis.
“I was in denial to be honest with you,” she said. “I probably went through 20 pregnancy tests. It was hard for me to get pregnant, so I wanted to be super positive before I got too excited.”
And if that wasn’t enough of a shock, Mowry was even more taken aback when she was told that she was having a girl. She is already the mother of six-year-old Cree, and a part of her believed she was going to end up having another boy.
“I was completely surprised!” she told the magazine. “For some reason, I didn’t think I would have a girl. I was shocked! I started crying because I knew how much my husband wanted to have a girl.”
And aside from teaching her how to dress fabulous (Mowry says she’s already filled up the baby’s closet with dresses and shoes — oh so many shoes), she wants her daughter to see herself and the world in a positive way.
“I want her to grow up knowing she is beautiful, no matter what anyone says, and I want her to see the world with an unconditional heart,” she said.
At the time of publication, Mowry said she was eight months and carrying quite the load, so “getting from point A to point B is a workout.” But despite what has come with carrying her child, she’s loving every minute of this second pregnancy.
“This one is different in the sense that I am really enjoying it more,” she said. “I am enjoying it through the nausea, sleepless nights, the pain. I am not taking any of it for granted.”
