“I Learned My Lesson”: K. Michelle Just Underwent A Second Surgery To Remove Tissue Impacted By Butt Injections
While Cardi B talked publicly about what it was like getting butt injections, 34-year-old singer K. Michelle has spent the last few months speaking on what’s it’s been like to get them removed. And while she did undergo an initial procedure to have fillers (not all) removed in January that seeped into areas around her buttocks over the years, she told Steve Harvey she recently had to have yet another surgery to remove tissue that had been affected.
“This upcoming Monday, I have a surgery. They’re cutting tissue out of my body so that my body will stop reacting to trying to push it out,” she told Harvey on his show. “This will be my second one, but I’ve learned my lesson. I’ve learned it.”
While she wouldn’t name names of course, K wasn’t afraid to say that a number of big names in the industry went to the same doctor she did for the injections.
“I went and did the butt shots. Everybody was doing it,” she said. “A lot of your favorite artists, we went to the same person. They’re sick too, but I just talk about mine. I don’t lie to y’all. I don’t tell y’all, ‘Oooh this is great!’ It’ll catch up. So I said, if I can show them my body, and what I did, I can also show them the outcome and the consequences of it. So I’ve been very open about it.”
This past February, K was quite open in fact, saying the pain and discomfort she endured as her body rejected the filler in her system was too much to ignore after a while.
“I didn’t start to feel any pain or have any issues until like a year ago. And my health just started to decline and go down and I ran all types of blood tests, everything,” she said on the Dr. Oz Show. “Doctors were really trying to figure out, you know, what was wrong with me. And I had seen some stories of a lot of women, who were going through the same thing and it was like discoloration. It was pain in your back. It was migraines. It was super discomfort. I took the stats and I’m like I know what this is. It’s like you always have this intuition, where you know you might want to ignore it. But I couldn’t ignore it anymore and it just wasn’t worth it.”
That’s why she made sure to send the message on Harvey’s show that trying to keep up with the Joneses isn’t worth your health.
“Trends come and go, but you don’t do the trends on your body,” she said. “They have to get it out.”
