Nothing gives a person more confidence than watching the hard work they put in with a new fitness regimen pay off. And the same way we throw on a bodycon dress after successfully dropping a few pounds or a new crop top, men also enjoy showcasing their gains as well. Just ask Wiz Khalifa.
The 30-year-old rapper has been taking part in MMA training since summer 2017 at Unbreakable Gym in West Hollywood, and aside from picking up some pretty intense fighting moves, he’s also bulked up thanks to the strength training that accompanies his workouts. We were introduced to Wiz back when he was a skinny young man rapping “Black and Yellow” in 2010, so to see him bulked up, abs popping, is quite the sight — even for him. He celebrated his new muscular frame on Instagram and made it clear in a new photo that “this is clearly to show off my body cause i fu–in worked for it and I’m proud of it”:
For context, this is a photo of Wiz around the time when he first started working out at Unbreakable:
The muscle gains are quite real.
And training for Wiz has become a healthy obsession that has helped him find a sense of peace within his hectic lifestyle. The weed still helps too, but the fitness regimen is definitely making a great difference.
“Having two sets of trainers has pushed my mind and body to places I never thought it could go,” he said on his birthday last fall. “Thank you to my @unbreakableperformance team for helping me find a new passion.”
He added, “I’m workin on myself and you should too.”
