I think blindly hating your exes is a waste of valuable experience and memories. Honestly, it’s even a little disrespectful to yourself. I mean, you did date that person once. You may have even loved that person, and thought you wanted a future with that person. Are you going to diss your own taste in humans so much as to just hate your exes? At one point, you saw something in them. You just didn’t yet see all the other stuff (the reasons you’d break up with them later). When you first fell for them, you were onto something. There was a quality there that is probably a pretty important quality for you to have in a partner. And you were positive and hopeful so you just keyed in on that quality, and didn’t really pay attention to the problematic ones until later.
