NY Emergency Spending, Budget Bills Moving Fast
(AP) – New York lawmakers are scheduled to approve the state’s latest emergency spending bill as Albany works furiously to wrap up a budget that’s nearly three months late. If the Senate gives the expected final legislative approval to Gov. David Paterson’s budget and emergency spending bills, about 70% of the budget that was due April 1 will be complete as of Monday.
