“Hello Indigestion”: Tia Mowry And Jordin Sparks Get Real About Their Third Trimester Struggles
In the beginning of a pregnancy, for many women, you’re elated about being tasked with bringing a child into the world. Nothing (not even some morning sickness) could take away the joy you’re feeling.
Until you get closer to the end that is.
By the last trimester, one can’t help but be a bit exhausted. You’re dealing with all sorts of aches and pains, swelling is happening, restless leg syndrome and reflux galore. Even if they weren’t your experiences, such discomforts of pregnancy have been the reality for Tia Mowry and Jordin Sparks. Both women are due to give birth in spring, Tia to a daughter and Jordin a baby boy — her first child. And while both women have been openly over the moon about their pregnancies on social media, they have also been honest about some of the more uncomfortable moments.
Mowry shared an image of herself getting ready to head out to be active, saying that doing so helps her deal with the pangs of her last trimester.
“Y’all, this 3 rd trimester is kicking my behind,” she wrote. “Phew! Gotta keep on and keep moving. My belly is so high! Hello indigestion 👀😬.”
And as for Jordin, she shared an image of herself stretching on an exercise ball in an attempt to combat numbness and a shooting pain down her leg.
“This little boy wants to be on my literal nerves today,” she wrote last week. “The bottom of my rib cage is numb & I have some shooting pain down my right leg so I’m stretching on my exercise ball. Phew! But it will all be worth it when he’s here.”
The 28-year-old singer did say though that all things considered, her pregnancy had been pretty smooth, so she was grateful.
“I can’t complain though because this journey has been smooth sailing for the most part,” she said. “He’s been so good to me! We can’t wait to meet you Little Man!”
While Tia has celebrated being able to welcome her second child after complications, for Sparks, she’s been trying to get ready for her first child while also trying to adjust to marriage (the couple wed in July). It hasn’t been easy, but as she told PEOPLE, it’s been rewarding.
“It was about five days after he moved to L.A. He comes in and I go ‘I’m pregnant.’ It was such a shock for both of us,” she said in November. “I turned around and started bawling in the closet. It’s been really crazy because everything changes. Everything has been so crazy and fast-forward. Once we got over the initial shock of it, now again just like it is with the marriage, to be able to share that this amazing thing is happening, it’s such a great thing. We did this together!”
