Ciara Does So Little To Keep Her Skin Flawless It’ll Probably Make You Mad

Everyone from dermatologists to aestheticians and even beauty editors always suggest we need “routines” when it comes to skincare. Cleanse, tone, and moisturize is the simplest of these, but most women know there are plenty of additional steps that can be added which include applying serums, essences, eye creams, acne creams, oils, and so much more. But in Ciara’s world, none of those things exists. To keep her skin looking as even-toned, acne-free, and luminous as it does, she relies on one thing: soap.

The singer recently talked to Allure about her beauty secrets and she told the mag, “It’s really bad, but I wash my face with my body soap. I was telling a dermatologist that, and they thought I was crazy. They were looking at me like I had four eyes or something.”

So am I. Granted, as she told Allure, her body wash of choice is from Dove, which makes me feel a little better considering how gentle and moisturizing their products are. Still, the 32-year-old isn’t wholly loyal to the brand, saying, “Whatever I wash my body with, I will use for my face. I don’t know if that’s the smartest thing.” Her skin suggests it is.

And though Ciara’s a fan of Cetaphil and also Aquaphor Healing Ointment, the latter is mostly used because it’s around the house for the kids.”It’s actually kind of three-in-one for me, ’cause it’s really for my babies, but I use it as well,” she shared.

If you aren’t already jealous of Ci Ci’s low-maintenance approach to her skin, I’ll go ahead and mention that she also confessed to sleeping in her makeup sometimes when she has a good beat (which leads me to believe the mom of two has also been blessed with an amazing set of genes). But there is something to be said for keeping it simple and that certainly seems to be working in Ciara’s case.
