Cardi B Stayed Off Twitter For Over A Month Because Too “Much Negativity Is Not Good For The Soul”
A break from just about anything can be really good for the mind, body and spirit. For Cardi B, she understood that. That’s why she recently took some time away from Twitter and the trolls that come with it.
While she focused on working on her debut album and kept posting on Instagram, the 25-year-old said on Twitter that she had to take a break for more than a month from tweeting due to the amount of negativity she was witnessing in her comments. She didn’t mince her words about it, saying the app can be “disgusting” to deal with at times:
This isn’t the first time Cardi has talked about dealing with negativity since gaining fame. She’s gone back and forth with people on Twitter about her relationship with Migos rapper Offset, especially after cheating rumors surfaced. And she recently said that while she is happy, she felt happier before all of the recognition due to people intruding in her life in ways she wasn’t expecting.
“One negative thing is that, even though I’m happy, I feel like I was a little bit happier two or three years ago when I had less money,” she told the CR Fashion Book. “I had less people who had opinions about my life. I felt like my life was mine. Now I feel like I don’t even own my life. I feel like the world owns me.”
But a positive distraction from that has been the rapper’s work on her album, which she’s been laying down tracks for around the country. She’s said that she is struggling to adapt to any place other than her native New York while she works on it, but Chick-fil-A helps:
Cardi announced at the iHeart Radio Music Awards this month that her album will be out in April. We’re sure plenty of people, especially “Bardigang” members, are looking forward to it.
