Natasha Rothwell Working On New Movie, Bridal Recall, For Paramount
Natasha Rothwell, who many of us know as Kelli from Issa Rae’s “Insecure,” is also a writer for the show. And in addition to her work there, Rothwell is expanding her resume by writing a new film for Paramount Pictures.
According to Deadline, Rothwell is set to write a comedy that will serve as re-imagined Identity Crisis. Rothwell’s story is about a woman who wakes up with amnesia on the day of her wedding. She has until the end of the day to determine who she is, if the man she’s set to marry is “the one” and whether or not she’s about to make the biggest mistake of her life.
No word on the people who will appear in front of the camera but I would love for Rothwell to appear in some capacity if she doesn’t take on the lead role.
Rothwell can be seen in Love Simon, currently in theaters. She’ll return as a co-producer for “Insecure.”
Along with her work on “Insecure,” Rothwell has inked a development deal with HBO where she is writing, producing and starring in her own project.
Her other writing credits include “Saturday Night Live,” and “Netflix Presents: The Characters.”
We’ll be happy to see what she has to come in the future.
