Will Smith’s decision to join Instagram was pretty much the single best thing that happened in 2017. Since joining in mid-December, the actor has acquired 11 million followers and made people laugh hysterically with his videos. He also makes people think with his advice. Whichever side of Will you prefer, I think we can all agree that he’s a treasure on the ‘gram.
But what does his wife think of his new social media presence?
Hip Hollywood actually caught up with Jada Pinkett Smith recently while attending Alfree Woodard’s ninth annual pre-Oscar event, the Sistahs Soiree. When asked if she has any issue with his Instagram posts and new side hustle as a vlogger, Jada actually said that she’s just happy that people get to see what she’s dealt with all of these years.
“People wonder what he’s like at home, I go, there you go,” she said. “That’s what we’ve been dealing with. That’s what I’ve been dealing with for the last 23 years. There you go!”
And while everyone loves the hilarity of his videos, they can also appreciate the more deeper messages he shares. It’s something that Jada said she’s always appreciated about him.
“I call him the sacred clown. Because he has a way to make people laugh but in a way to also open up to make people think as well,” she said. “He has his way of delivering his message and it’s through laughter and joy and fun. I think it’s a beautiful thing. I really do. I’m happy for him and he’s having so much fun and that brings me joy.”
