Half the stress of first dates is figuring out your look — you know hair, dress, shoes, makeup. Well, that is if you bother with the latter which Laverne Cox does not.

The actress stopped by Access this week to talk about her love life because, as she admitted, “I’m a Tinder girl.” Cox got back to swiping after she broke up with her ex and though she said being a celebrity on a dating app is a bit of a risk, “If you want to date you have to be on the apps. You have to be on the apps to be in the game.”

But being in the game doesn’t mean going overtime on effort for a stranger, Cox explained after co-host Kit Hoover asked her about not liking to wear makeup on first dates.

“I don’t,” Cox confessed. “Some of the guys knew who I was anyway so I’m like, I’m not putting in all this effort — I’f I’m coming from an event and I already have makeup on, great — but I’m not putting in all this effort for a guy that I don’t know yet. You might not look like your pictures. You might Smell.”

Now before you go thinking that’s not the move when you’re trying to make a good first impression, being barefaced hasn’t held Cox back in the love department.

“My current boyfriend, I showed up on the date with like no makeup and some jean shorts and it worked out,” The Orange is the New Black Star shared. “We’re still together, it’s amazing…I’m in love,” Cox added of her eight-month relationship.

“I’m in love, yeah, it’s incredible. Love is so incredibly healing. I’m so happy. When you’re happy you kind of just want to love — love is lifesaving.”
