Who hasn’t had at least one messy break-up? Pilar Sanders, the ex-wife of former football and baseball player Deion Sanders, knows a lot about this. (And that’s an understatement). But she has some advice for women going through the motions. They’re words that you need to hear, especially when you just want to sit at home in the dark.

The Shade Room caught up with the 43-year-old beauty who, at the moment, seems to be in a happy and stable bae-ship with James Prince, a.k.a. J. Prince, the CEO of Rap-a-Lot Records.

But before the smile you clearly see displayed on her face, she went through years of child custody battles, along with allegations of abuse and defamation during her divorce from ex-husband Deion Sanders. Not to mention, she was sentenced to serve seven days in jail for violating a custody agreement. I mean, what hasn’t this woman experienced?

While you probably want to be experts in more productive and happier subjects, Pilar, because of her experience, is the queen expert of what to do and what not to do during a nutty break-up.

She told The Shade Room that when you’re going through something like this, never forget to do you.

“Freedom is the best part of life,” so “go out and get your life girls!!!” She said. “Life goes on and one monkey doesn’t stop the show regardless of how public or private the break up is.”

Well, that “monkey” seemed to be a metaphor for her divorce, and from all that we’ve seen, she definitely was getting her life during those years, whether you agree with her methods of doing so or not. The New York native also wanted to make it clear that her expertise in messy matters has allowed her to grow.

“With more wisdom, more maturity, having the capacity to give more and to receive love more — that’s the best,” she added.

So, as a “very, very happy” woman with J. Prince right now, we hope that she clings to her own advice…just in case, she and the 53-year-old management mogul don’t work out. But here’s hoping for the best to a woman who definitely needs some love and light after all she’s been through.
