Tracy is back! The 30 Rock alum is returning to television, and he’s bringing our favorite #SheReady comedienne along for the ride.

TBS is bringing Tracy Morgan back into our living rooms in a new comedy series called The Last OG. The story centers on Tracy’s character being released from prison after serving 15 years for selling crack cocaine. But when he goes back to his old Brooklyn hood, he realizes that it’s changed dramatically. Packed with hipsters, not-so-gangster gangsters, and his ex-flame Shay, played by Tiffany Haddish, married to a white guy, the man seems like a fish out of water. He asks, “What happened to Brooklyn?” Welcome to gentrification, Tracy.

It is a miracle that the 49-year-old actor is bringing his talents back to the small screen. Morgan is four years shy from the anniversary of being in intensive care for suffering injuries during a six-car collision in New Jersey in 2014. It was said at one point, by his lawyer, that it was unclear whether Morgan would ever perform again because of a brain injury from the accident. And in 2015, Morgan sat down with NBC’s Matt Lauer, saying that when he recovers, he would return to comedy.

“I love comedy. I’ll never stop loving her. I love comedy and I can’t wait to get back to her, but right now my goal is just to heal and get better because I’m not 100 percent yet, I’m not,” he said. “And when I’m there, you’ll know it. I’ll get back to making you laugh. I promise you.”

And here we are! He is fulfilling his promise. Based on the trailer, The Last O.G. looks really, really funny, and with co-stars like Haddish and Cedric the Entertainer, how could it not be? Jordan Peele is also one of the show’s executive producers, so only Black excellence will overflow.

The Last O.G. premieres April 3 on TBS. Will you be tuning in?
