Gloria Williams Pleads Guilty To Kidnapping Kamiyah Mobley
Gloria Williams, the woman who raised Alexis Manigo for 18 years, has pleaded guilty to kidnapping her, 8 hours after she was born, from a Florida hospital, twenty years ago.
Williams, 52, accepted a plea agreement Monday in Jacksonville, Florida. The prison sentence is anywhere from 0-22 years.
Prosecutors argued and Williams admitted to kidnapping Kamiyah Mobley from a Jacksonville hospital in 1998. Williams raised her in Walterboro, South Carolina.
Alexis, who’s birth name is Kamiyah Mobley, met her birth parents last year but according to a recent trailer from “Iyanla Fix My Life,” the two are no longer speaking.
During the court proceedings, neither Manigo or her birth parents were present in court.
Williams is set to be sentenced in May.
