Teyana Taylor To Open ’90s-Themed Nail Salon In Her Old Harlem Hood
Get ready, Harlem! Teyana Taylor is opening a nail salon in none other than her hometown of Harlem, NY. The singer/songwriter announced her plans on Twitter for a shop back in October, but they were just plans at the time. However, she assured her fans that she was serious, even sharing the name of the shop, Junie Bee Nails, named after her 2-year-old daughter Iman “Junie” Shumpert, Jr.
And now, it’s finally happening! Yesterday, the Fade star took to Instagram to share the logo and her vision for the shop, a ’90s-themed establishment where “Dapper Dan style Uni’s, to Door Knockers, Bamboo earrings, baby hairs, Airbrushed nails, [and] 54’11’s” will be offered. The 27-year-old is also offering opportunities to the “flyest nail techs” to join her in making Junie Bee Nails a success, set to open some time this month. She made it clear why she wanted to bring the salon to Harlem, saying, “I want to continue to create great opportunities for my community and our talented youth!!!”

To add to the excitement of Junie Bee Nails’ grand opening, Teyana shared a photo of the salon under construction with the caption “the process.”
Does Teyana really realize how hyped a lot of us are about this news? As a person who gets her nails done religiously every two weeks, it can be hard finding a Black-owned salon. With Teyana putting her hat in the ring, she will bring Black women near and far to her Harlem shop. And Black Twitter has let her know that’s exactly what they’re going to do once an opening date is announced.
Congrats to Teyana! Will you be checking for her salon once it opens in Harlem?
