(Chicago Sun Times) — When it comes to black pioneers, Chicago is the center of the universe. That’s the message of WTTW-Channel 11’s new documentary, “DuSable to Obama: Chicago’s Black Metropolis”. “The biggest secret in Chicago is that Chicago was founded by a black man,” begins historian-author Lerone Bennett Jr. in the documentary, which chronicles the history of Chicago’s African-American community. It premieres at 7:30 tonight on WTTW.
