Instead of resolutions, the hosts of “The Talk” declared New Year’s Evolutions, i.e. personal challenges they’re committing to in 2018.

Yesterday, Eve faced her challenge of going makeup-free in public (on air no less) in an effort, she said, to stop using makeup as a crutch. Though the 39-year-old admitted she was still “stressed out” as she sat before the show’s studio audience bare faced, she’s glad she faced her fear head on.

“I feel like I’m naked,” she said,”but waiting for it was the hardest part and I’m glad that I’ve done it… [makeup] became a security blanket… I’ve been in the business from a young age and I wore makeup for everything, every time I was in public… also it became something, that I guess,  I started seeing flaws that I didn’t want other people to see… I don’t want to be scared of that anymore.”

Her co-hosts didn’t leave Eve hanging, deciding to join the rapper on stage make-up free as well, which she appreciated. “You ladies doing this with me, it has helped me, this is making me feel brave,” Eve shared. “So I thank you so much.”

Sheryl Underwood actually wore makeup on one side of her face and none on the other to show the contrast. She explained, “I didn’t wear a lot of makeup when I was young… then I decided never to do it, and I became funnier… now I’m embracing that I was beautiful inside.”

While Eve hasn’t said she will stop wearing makeup altogether, she did declare, “I will really be doing fresh face.”
