“It Was A Tough Year For Me” Kevin Hart Says He’s Working Towards Being Better
Kevin Hart was all up in the news this year. In addition to his continued reign on the big screen, the comedian also found himself in some scandalous situations regarding his personal life. Y’all remember. The cheating scandal. The extortion scandal. It was a mess.
Recently, during the promotion of his new film, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Hart spoke with Mario Lopez and his daughter Gia about the year he’s had.
Gia asked Hart, what he wanted Santa to bring him and whether or not he’d been naughty or nice this past year.
The comedian answered candidly.
“That’s definitely a tough question for Kevin Hart right now. It was a tough year for me. I had some bumps in the road but the good thing is you take steps backwards to take steps great forwards so now, I recovered from some not nice times, now what I basically want is for Santa to know now, I’m doing good and I’m doing better — I’m a good guy.”
Later in the interview, Gia and Mario asked Kevin how he was adjusting to having a newborn baby in the house again. Hart made it clear that he has yet to change a diaper.
“Oh, no. Not on my new baby. Not on Kenzo, on my older babies I did and I had tough times doing it, with a newborn it’s very tough, they’re fragile, they need a mother’s touch, that’s not a father’s time, so I said, ‘Baby, don’t tag me in till me and the baby are on terms of ‘stop’ and he can listen to that, I don’t want to deal with that new, new.’”
When Gia asked Hart was his favorite part about filming Jumanji, he said it had to be the homage they paid to Robin Williams.
“We got to do a movie that had a big following, people loved it and it has such an amazing actor in the first one, Robin Williams and we wanted to make sure we did a good job of paying homage to the late, great Robin Williams… The small hints and winks that we did to Robin Williams that I think people are going to love, that’s my favorite part.”
