After Previously Being Afraid To Sing Publicly, Adrienne Bailon Announces Solo Album
Back in 2015, The Real co-host Adrienne Bailon opened up about her fear of trying to perform as a solo act. And it wasn’t just the usual nerves of going it alone after years of being part of groups like 3LW or Cheetah Girls, but rather, fearing that her voice wouldn’t be strong enough or good enough to hold her own.

“One, I’m scared to fail, so I’ve had this solo album that I’ve said is coming out for the last five years,” she said before tearing up in front of the audience. “I’m scared to fail. I don’t like the sound of my own voice, and that’s honest. In 3LW, I probably enjoyed the music side more because it was R&B, it was more of my thing. But I felt like in Cheetah Girls, they praised the fact that I sounded so young. And as a 31-year-old woman, sometimes I hear myself recorded and I still think I sound really young.”
“To step out on my own and let my voice be heard, I’m scared,” she added. “What if people don’t like it? What if it’s not successful? I almost have been saying I would rather it not come out and just say, well, it never came out, than for it to come out and be wack.”
Well, after coming out of her shell and performing for the first time in six years publicly, Bailon has decided to put her fears aside and release her first solo album. She announced on Instagram on Wednesday that she’s coming out with a Christmas album called New Tradiciones and it will be available on Friday, November 17:
“I can’t believe it… it’s finally here… My Christmas Album!” she wrote. “NEW TRADICIONES! (New Traditions). My heart is so beyond full… i shared with you all a while back my fear of singing & because of YOUR words of love & encouragement… I DID IT! I thank you with all of my heart. This is for YOU!”
The album will celebrate Latin culture, and Bailon said that all of the sales of the album will go towards aiding those in Puerto Rico.
