Earlier this week, we wrote about Porsha Williams and her decision to keep wearing her wedding ring, despite being divorced from her husband Kordell Stewart, for the past four years. I don’t have to tell you the decision, like so many of Porsha’s actions, was strange to us, even with her calling it “costume jewelry.”

And apparently we weren’t the only ones. When the women of “The Real,” discussed this story, Jeannie Mai, who is in the middle of divorcing her husband Freddy Harteis, revealed why she doesn’t exactly see eye to eye with Porsha still wearing the ring.

“First of all, I am not ready to slide into any dating world. I’m still…It takes a lot. I packed on a lot of makeup to kind of put this face back together from all the crying that you guys helped me through. But I will say as soon as things ended, I immediately had to take off the ring because I felt that I wasn’t honored to wear something that someone had chosen specifically for me and the covenant that we were supposed to have. So I took that off. But I will say that emotionally there are some things that I can’t take off, like Freddy’s pajamas that I wear almost everyday. There’s things that I still wear because this is going to take time. So when I see that, I would never be able to look at a wedding ring other than the promise you made to that person who you were supposed to be with.”

You can listen to her comments in the video below.

Chile. I’ve never been in anybody’s marriage and I certainly don’t know Jeannie Mai’s…but the love she still seems to have for her husband–wearing his pajamas almost every night–just makes me wonder if there was no way they could have worked it out.  Sad.

But what do you think about her thoughts regarding the wedding ring? If you don’t decide to continue wearing it, what should you do with it? Return it? Pawn it?
