Just yesterday, we were discussing the ways in which the film Get Out still has us shook. Brande, our managing editor, admitted that for weeks after seeing the movie, the image of Georgina’s face as she laughed and cried simultaneously, was ingrained in her mind’s eye. The movie was deep, touching on everything from race relations between Black and White folks, Black and Asian folks and even the dynamic between Black men and Black women.

It was unlike anything we’d EVAH seen before. It made us think, discuss, and [hopefully] in a perfect world made White people look at themselves and their motivations.

It was deep.

So, today, when we learned that Universal submitted the film as a comedy for the Golden Globe nominations, the folks on the internet had a lot to say about the decision. Check out the reaction online.
