Over the past few months, Tyrese has been sharing bizarre and irrational posts on his Instagram account.  Most recently he had a crying spell in front of millions of people over the custody battle with his ex-wife over his 10-year-old daughter.  Now, the west coast native is saying his breakdown was due to him being prescribed an anti-psychotic named Rexulti that had an “adverse effect” on him.

“This particular drug that was suggested although maybe helpful to others had an adverse effect on me and this is the reason I had a complete meltdown online,” he shared via Instagram.

Rexulti is used to treat schizophrenia and depression.

Tyrese was very apologetic in the post and asked that the public not see his transparency as oversharing.

“A lot of people were effected by what these meds did to me over these last 2 months and this is my public apology. A few I will make personally.”

The 38-year-old singer does have something to celebrate despite all the drama with his legal battle. He recently announced that he and his wife, Samantha, are expecting their first child together.

He is also expecting a “Will Smith Wire” of a cool $5 million that he claims was promised to him under the condition he would stay off of social media. Since this promise was made, he has continued to post on a regular basis.
