Child Abuse Case Against Tyrese Has Been Dismissed
Tyrese has been on an emotional rollercoaster since not being able to see his 10-year-old daughter, Shayla. Fortunately for him, he may be able to see his baby sooner than later. According to The Blast, the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services has closed the child abuse case against the Fast & Furious star.
The investigation began after Tyrese’s ex-wife, Norma, alleged that he had hit their daughter so hard that she was unable to sit down. The beating was allegedly the result of Shayla taking money out of her piggy bank. The former Mrs. Gibson is also seeking a restraining order preventing him from disciplining her. Shayla has also been granted permission to testify in court if she chooses.
The West Coast crooner recently broke down in tears via an Instagram video pleading that his daughter not be taken away from him. As he sobbed, Tyrese said he had not seen his daughter in two months and that paying the $13,000 a month in legal fees was taking a toll on him.
According to court documents, Norma alleges that Tyrese struck their daughter between 12 to 16 times and that he suffers from Bi-polar disorder. Tyrese denies that he suffers from a mental illness.
