#HarvestDay: 15 Times Oprah And Her Fruits, Veggies And Herbs Were Gardening Goals

I’ve never had a green thumb. When I’ve been given flowers, I’ve struggled to keep them alive. When I’ve been given seeds, I haven’t seen much grow from them. In this day and age, all of that might not seem very important, but when it comes to efforts to eat healthier and know what’s in our food, it would be great to have some skills in gardening. Maybe that’s why I’m so impressed with what Oprah has been able to do.

She has 16 acres of farmland in Maui that she set up with fruits, veggies and herbs with friend and health expert Bob Greene in an effort to help bring about affordable home-grown food for people on the island who see about 90 percent of the food flown in from outside. The veggies and other goodies she’s been able to harvest have been pretty amazing to see, and she’s shared everything she’s been able to grow and pick with her followers on social media. From heads of lettuce literally the size of her head to ginger, tomatoes, snow peas, fat black cherry tomatoes and more, that woman knows how to garden some good food. Check out some of her best #harvestday moments:
