Governor Threatens Special Sessions During Conventions

(Buffalo News) — Gov. David A. Paterson on Tuesday told his fellow Democrats that he wants them at the Capitol next week to deal with the stalled state budget instead of pushing politics at their nominating convention for governor and other statewide officeholders.

Paterson, who is leaving office at the end of the year, told legislative leaders to prepare for a special session May 27 — the same day Democrats are set to pick Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo as their gubernatorial candidate.
