Retailer Fee Frenzy Hits Designers
(Crain’s) — Major retailers are giving local designers a headache. If shipments of goods are not labeled properly, there’s a fee. If a packing slip is an inch to the left of where it should be, there’s a fee. If a retailer makes extensive advertising outlays and decides that a vendor should contribute, there’s a fee. And of course, if a retailer does not sell all of a designer’s goods, there’s a fee.
