(Washington Informer) — D.C. voting rights has the absolute backing of President Barack Obama and he will sign a bill that grants voting representation in the U.S. Congress if it reaches his desk. That’s what Obama senior advisor Valerie Jarrett told journalists during a press conference in the West Wing of the White House, Wed., April 28. The senior advisor also addressed a bevy of additional questions posed by reporters during the hour-long session.
“It is clear that the president supports voting rights in D.C.,” Jarrett, 53, said.
“The first lady, Michelle Obama, said recently that they [both] support D.C. voting rights. However, the president has a very full plate to deal with.”
