That Girl Good! Tamar Braxton Performs Her Hit “Love And War” On Wendy Williams

After the surprising success of her single “Love and War,” which rocketed to number one last week with the help of great production, a great voice, her reality show and the co-sign of celeb friends and supporters like Ne-Yo and Lady Gaga, Tamar Braxton is riding around and getting it as we speak. For further proof of that, check out her performance of “Love And War” on The Wendy Williams Show, which was shown on today’s episode. In a form-fitting black dress with white floral details, a dramatic blonde wig, and a bright red lip, she sang her little heart out, even allegedly bringing Wendy to tears.

All in all, the more I hear the song, the more I appreciate it, because initially, while it was a beautiful track, I was indifferent about it. But that girl can SANG. Yes, “sang” m’dears, not “sing,” which made me like the song a lot more. But I will admit that there were moments where I couldn’t really hear what she was saying and she struggled at first to get those high notes off the ground, but once she did, I had to bob my head hard like Vince was doing in the audience (big laugh at him for doing it with such a straight serious face). Good work by Toni’s little sister, who is clearly starting to get some shine all on her own. Check out the video below and let us know if you’re loving the track and the performance. And on a side note, unless you love Wiz Khalifa, you can stop watching around the five-minute mark.

“Divorce Is Not An Option”: Tamar And Vince Clear Up Split Rumors With Wendy, Talk Oprah And Toni Braxton Beef

While still stuck in the house working thanks to Sandy, I once again had to endulge in “The Wendy Williams Show” this morning. On the program this time around was Vince Herbert and Tamar Braxton, and it seems the “happy” couple was on their media rounds for the sake of doing damage control. For about a month now rumors have been swirling that the two were heading for a divorce, and the rumors only heated up more when it came out that the two were selling their 15,000 square foot mansion after having lived in it less than a year. Well, they say the move is just a coincidence, and the divorce speculation is false. A healthy looking Vince and his lady also talked about whether or not they have any regrets about doing their show and on possible beef between Oprah and Toni Braxton.

When asked about where the rumor about a possible split came about, which Wendy had even gone out of her way to claim Tamar planted out their in the media for publicity (rude), Tamar denied the rumors and said she would never do such a thing:

I don’t know. I don’t really, lie because it’s hard for me to remember stuff. I would never put a rumor out like that…because this is my baby. I don’t play with that one. But we’re selling our house, that’s a fact.

Perfect segway, because Wendy then asked Tamar why the two were selling their lavish 15,000 square foot home, which was only a space for three people by the way, when they just moved in. Well, Tamar pointed the finger saying it was all Vince’s idea because he found an even bigger and better home, but he says he did it for his lady: “I want you to have everything you need, babe. We need a little bit more space.” I know what you’re thinking, more space for a couple with no children? But why? Vince wants a gym for himself, a little beauty salon for Tamar to get her glam on…out of his way, and adding all these things would have been even more costly, so it was actually cheaper to just move instead of adding on to their now for sale crib.

As for regrets, she doesn’t have any regarding what she put out there about herself, her man and their relationship, but ironically, she doesn’t like people thinking they can comment on it. As she says, “I don’t have any regrets…its just that a lot of people think it’s okay to comment on how you run your relationship.” And while they weren’t getting along perfectly on the show, she says nothing they’ve gone through would be worth trying to divorce over. They prefer counseling. “When we got married, we decided that divorce was not an option.”

But maybe the most interesting tidbit of information might have been the random inclusion of Toni’s changed opinion of Oprah Winfrey. During Toni’s “Behind the Music” special that aired recently, she claimed Oprah single-handedly tried to tarnish her career because she felt that Oprah tried to make her out to be someone who walks around buying Gucci plates all the time when she was supposed to be having money issues. While Tamar didn’t think Oprah tried to hurt her sister’s career, she did say that she definitely hurt Toni’s feelings because of the image that was put out there.
I think what Toni was saying was that people were looking at her differently because they thought she spent all her money at Gucci and Prada and stuff like that, which she definitely didn’t, and I can attest to that. But I felt like Oprah really did hurt her feelings and Toni had every right to say that she hurt her feelings. Oprah’s a human being as well, and she hurts people’s feeling sometimes.
And so there you have it folks. Vince and Tamar are still together, they’re getting a bigger and better house (and a beauty salon), they don’t believe in divorce, don’t have regrets, and yes, Oprah hurts people’s feelings sometimes. Hey, Oprah learned a thing or two from Barbara Walters so what do you expect?
What did you think of Vince and Tamar’s comments during the interview? Do you believe they’re solid as a rock?

Happily Ever After? First Look At “Tamar And Vince”

"Tamar and Vince"

Remember when Tamar Braxton said she puts away her “divatude” when it comes to her husband? That was a lie.

Today, WeTV released a “first look” at The Braxton’s reality show spinoff “Tamar and Vince” a.k.a All Tamar, All The Time and if anything that divatude is turned all the way up.

Tamar Braxton has said that “Tamar and Vince” is a chance for her to show her fans her “wife” side as opposed to the “sister” side we see on Braxton Family Values.

According to WeTV:

This new show will follow Tamar in her ongoing pursuit of pop super stardom, with husband Vince Herbert helping and supporting her every step of the way.

In Tamar’s world, anything can happen, but Vince is always there to be the voice of reason, and bring her back down to earth. Viewers will get an inside look at their complicated yet devoted relationship, including how their upscale lifestyle must adjust as Vince recovers from a recent life-threatening health scare.

There aren’t a lot of examples of strong marriages on television today and it’s nice to see Tamar and Vince together. However, despite Tamar’s sing-song voiceover in this clip, their relationship seems more “dysfunctional” than “fairytale” but maybe that’s only what the commercial is showing. I’m sure WETv is promoting the whole “Tamar is the loud one and Vince is the laid back one, opposites attract and live happily ever after” thing. That’s cute and all, but him saying “I’m stuck here” after less than four years of marriage is not a good sign. I’m guessing he was kidding?

We all know that reality shows starring married couples often end up chronicling the end of that marriage but Tamar says that’s not happening for them. She told Jet Magazine ”reality TV marriages fail because they’re being fake, and then when they see it on TV they argue.” In this promo, it looks like all this couple does is argue so I don’t know what she meant by that.

Maybe the reality show curse won’t fall on them. They say they’re each other’s best friend and they’ve definitely been through a lot together. But after watching this promo, we can only hope they make it to season 2 without getting divorced dot com.

What do you think? Will you be watching Tamar and Vince? Does their relationship seem dysfunctional to you?

Tamar and Vince Cover Jet and Talk Her Attitude & His Money

Black love is in the air! And if you couldn’t get enough of Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union on the cover of Essence, now you can check out Tamar Braxton and her man Vince Herbert on the cover of Jet, commenting on their much talked about relationship together.

When asked about how the relationship of the reality star Braxton sister and wife and baller manager of both Toni Braxton and Lady Gaga work, Herbert pushes the fact that aside from just being a married couple, the two are great friends, which puts their relationship on another level:

“We have fun, which is what a relationship is all about.  Tamar is the greatest. Like, we’d just drive to Disneyland, then go to the movies and fall asleep. Because we are friends and you can’t stress that enough in a relationship.  We have our arguments and disagreements, but that’s life.”

And when asked about her attitude, Tamar made it clear that how she talks to her girlfriends, or her sisters for that matter, is not how she comes at her husband, so the attitude stays on-camera. However, when it comes to hitting the studio to record her upcoming album, which she is making through the Interscope and her husband’s label, if she doesn’t stick to her schedule, then the “Sasha Fierce” in her will bring that famed attitude out!

“I have to do this,” she says. “I wake up in the morning and want to go to the studio, because if I don’t go, ‘her’ is going to be upset,” she says, referencing her unnamed alter ego in the third person. “I don’t want to put it in a category because when you do that you limit yourself,” she says. “It’s just going to be hot music. Great songs that appeal to everybody.”

Lastly, and most importantly for those wondering, when it comes to money and if that is the center of their relationship and reason they’re together, both vehemently deny accusations that he’s buying her love and that she’s a gold digger who won’t mess with a broke…you know:

“I love my wife. This girl is so far from being a gold digger. I wouldn’t be with someone like that for nine years,” he says. And Tamar is quick to tag in: “When I met Vince I had my own house. I had my own car. I was independent.”

Get it right! If you want to hear more, including more on her music career, their love and thoughts on the reality TV curse for star marriages, keep an eye out for the new issue of Jet.

Do you think they’re an awesome power couple?
